WHO IS CULTIVATING CHANGE? 

The Cultivating Change Foundation's mission is to value and elevate LGBT agriculturists through advocacy, education, and community. The foundation works to fulfill this mission through three strategies: Being more visible to each other; Being more visible to others; and connecting to people, companies and organizations who are doing incredible work for the LGBT community. 

 

where will the summit be held this year?

The 2019 Cultivating Change Summit will take place in Des Moines, Iowa at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown, 700 Grand Ave, Des Moines, IA 50309.

 

when does the summit take place?

The 2019 Cultivating Change Summit will take place Wednesday, June 19th - Friday, June 21st.

Who should attend the summit?

Agriculture Industry Professionals, such as, Farmers and Ranchers, Human Resource leaders, Executives, Employee Resource Groups and Group leaders, and Organizational leaders.

Ag Education Leadership, such as, Cooperative Extension Agents, State and Regional Ag Education professionals, and leaders in professional organizations and societies.

Collegiate and Academic Leaders, such as, College of Agriculture undergraduate and graduate students, and College of Agriculture faculty and staff.

LGBTQ+ Allies, such as, Agriculturalists who are allies of the LGBTQ+ community and friends and family of LGBTQ+ agriculturalists

What will be experienced at the summit?

At the Summit, you will experience unique and elevated professional development opportunities. You will network with a purpose and expand your human capital. You will collaborate and share best practices for solving problems facing the industry. Lastly at the Summit, you will activate with tools and resources to take back and implement in your community. What is the attire for the Summit?

With exception to the Iowa Ag Experience, Business-Casual is the attire for the Summit. This is a professional development experience, and we also value individual identities and expressions. Come as you are and feel comfortable.

For the Awards Gala dinner Friday night attendees should come in business formal (suit and tie) or formal attire.

 

what hotels are available?

The official Summit hotel is Des Moines Marriott Downtown (700 Grand Ave, Des Moines, IA 50309). However, there are several hotel options available if our room block is full, including the Embassy Suites and the Renaissance.

what forms of payment are accepted?

For the 2019 Cultivating Change Summit, all registrations must be paid for with a credit card. Registrations will not be considered complete without the application of a credit card, so please have a credit card available before beginning your registration.

 

registration cancellations: I can no longer attend and no one can go in my place. What do I do?

Please contact info@cultivatingchangefoundation.org to discuss options for cancelling your registration.

Cancellations and Refunds Policy:

Date: Up Until May 1, 2019 | Refund Amount: 50% of paid registration

Date: After May 1, 2019 | Refund Amount: No refund provided

If in the sole discretion of the Board of Directors, an extraordinary circumstance occurs, the board may consider a waiver of the of the 50% cancellation penalty on a case-by-case basis. If an attendee feels that they experienced an extraordinary circumstance, they should email info@cultivatingchangefoundation.org for their appeal to be considered. 

 

substitutions: I can no longer attend but someone else can go in my place. how do I substitute?

Please contact info@cultivatingchangefoundation.org to discuss options for substituting someone in place of your registration. 

Who do I talk to about having a booth in the Engagement Center?

If you are one of our sponsors, the Engagement Center space is included with your sponsorship, otherwise the booth space is $250.
